The Middlesex Schools’ FA Under-16 Representative Team have reached the semi-final of their South-East England Schools’ FA (SEESFA) competition.
The Seaxes defeated Kent 2-1 at Brunel University Sports Park on 25th February to secure second place in Group 1 of the LC Hill Trophy. Their reward is an away tie against neighbours Hertfordshire, who have already secured top spot in Group 2 with one match still to play. Surrey, who won the group in which Middlesex competed, will play at home to Norfolk or Essex.
Middlesex’s Under-14 squad also have the chance to reach the knockout phase of their SEESFA competition. Having completed their fixtures with two wins and two draws from five matches, the Seaxes now wait for the result of the match between Surrey and Hampshire on 11th March. If group leaders Surrey win or draw, they will secure top spot and eliminate Hampshire. Should Hampshire win, they will join Surrey on nine points and knock Middlesex out.
We wish the Under-16 squad well in their semi-final and await the outcome of the final matches in the Under-14 competition. Whatever happens, the Association congratulates all players selected to represent the County this season on their achievement.
