Following on from a committee meeting that took place at the start of August, it was unanimously voted in to take a new approach in the 2024/25 competitions. The approach is outlined below:

  1. For the 2024/25 tournaments, the entrants have been grouped into a northern (Barnet, Brent, Enfield and Haringey) and a western zone (Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow) On the occasion that the northern teams have more numbers in a particular draw, some Brent and Barnet schools will transfer to the western zone.
  2. The first two rounds have been drawn from a hat at random, maintaining each school in its respective zone.
  3. The winner of the 23/24 competition will pass to the second round automatically, every other team has the opportunity of being drawn to play in the first round or to pass through to the second round.
  4. The subsequent rounds: Last 16 in some cases, Quarter Finals and Semi Finals will work on an open draw system across the whole county (i.e. a team from the western zone could face off against a team from the northern zone).
  5. At the end of each round, the draw for the next round will take place.
  6. The Brigg Cup will work differently this year. As we have 27 entrants, we have split the competition into nine groups of three teams. There are four groups in the northern zone and five groups in the western zone. There will be three games per group and the winner will automatically proceed to the next stage. The best seven second place teams will join the nine winners and we will go straight to an open draw for the Last 16.
