MSFA U12 Kay Cup Final, 30th March 2017

In a pulsating, end-to-end Kay Cup Final, Queens Park Community School triumphed 3-2 after a stirring second half comeback at The Hive, Barnet FC.

Theo Alexandrou was the goal scoring hero for Queens Park thanks to his a stunning late winner, dribbling his way past three defenders before driving the ball past the goalkeeper.

Early in the game QPCS had taken the lead through a wonderful lob by Albi Alexander after Ayuba Jambang had sent him clear with a ball over the top of the defence.

But after that Enfield largely controlled the first half with some impressive quick passing football, although QPCS always offered a threat on the break.

QPCS goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Abdul-Rasoul was his team’s Player of the Match, making a string of crucial saves to keep his team in the game as Enfield scored twice to end the first half 2-1 ahead.

The second half was very even and after levelling through an Alexander free kick Queens Park managed to claim the Kay Cup thanks to the magical run from Theo Alexandrou .

QPCS Manager Mr Costas Demosthenous commented after the game: “The boys rose to the occasion. They showed great spirit to come back from behind. Both team showed great sportsmanship. I’m very proud”.
