Middlesex and Brent star Cai Burrows has been nominated to attend a trial for England Schoolboys.

Cai is a student at St Gregory’s school and has been consistently outstanding for his school, district and county. He was  previously on the books at Brentford and captained the 2013-14 Brent squad that won the Middlesex FA Inter-District League and the London Cup.

Cai will attend the English Schools’ FA’s South-East England trial event alongside other England hopefuls on 30 October. The trial takes place in Middlesex, at Rayners Lane FC. If successful, Cai will then represent the South-East against the South-West in November, with the best performers in that match then advancing to National trials in January 2017. The successful players from that final stage will represent their country in Centenary Shield matches against Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. England Schoolboys will also play an international against Australia.

Middlesex Schools’ FA Vice-Chair Chris Ampofo commented “It is a huge honour to even attend a trial for your country. We want to thank ESFA for the opportunity and wish Cai well. It will be a competitive process but Cai has been outstanding so he stands a chance of progressing.”
