The Middlesex Football Association is once again working in partnership with the Middlesex Schools' FA to offer county-wide Futsal competitions for girls at Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16.

Futsal is a 5-a-side game played indoors using a size 4 ball with reduced bounce. It is renowned for developing players’ technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness. Players enjoy it so much it has become the fastest growing version of football.

Each school in the County has the opportunity to play in their own borough competition with the winners being invited to the County Finals, which will be held around Easter at Brunel University. At this stage, competing schools represent their borough against the other boroughs within Middlesex and if successful can then progress to the Regional and then National Finals later in the year.

As Futsal may be new to some schools, every school registering for the competition will receive a Futsal ball and session guidance to allow someone to deliver the sessions confidently, be it a teacher or a Young Leader.

Any school interested in taking part should contact the Middlesex FA's Football Development Officer for Women & Girls, Kelly Hancock, by sending an email to kelly.hancock@middlesexfa.com.  This should reach Kelly by Friday 13th November.

Please remember that your school doesn’t have to have entered into the competition in previous years and your players don’t have to have any previous playing experience. The format of competition will be flexible, depending on the level of interest within each borough at the various age groups.
