If you’ve already filled out our Referee Registration Form, you’ll notice that we ask potential match officials when and where they might like to take games.
There are two main reasons for that:
- We understand that, for both schools and referees alike, it is beneficial for officials to be appointed to fixtures which are local to either their work or home, so that any appointments they accept fit into their schedule.
- In the vast majority of cases, appointments are made by the home team, rather than an Appointments Officer.
In many matches played in MSFA Cups, a teacher will officiate without difficulty. However, semi-finals, and all matches in our Inter-District Leagues must be controlled by a qualified referee.
For County Cup Finals and Inter-County Representative Matches, we seek to appoint teams of suitable match officials. These appointments will either be made by MSFA directly, or in co-operation with our friends and colleagues at the Middlesex FA. The Association wishes to reward those referees who regularly commit to officiating within schools football whilst also creating development opportunities for those referees who are looking to develop their skills.
If you have questions or queries about refereeing as a member of the Middlesex Schools’ FA panel, please complete the form below.
